Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do to keep it safe. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What we collect
Only what you type into the enquiry form, plus whatever you choose to attach:
- Your name and email address, and — if you give them — your country and a WhatsApp number.
- What you tell us about your book: the title, genre, word count, the service you think you need, and your message.
- Any files you attach, such as a sample chapter or a full manuscript.
- How you heard about us, if you answer that question. It is optional and used only to know where to spend our effort.
- Basic technical data such as your IP address, used to limit spam and abuse of the form.
There is no account to create, so we hold no customer passwords. There is no checkout, so we never see payment details of any kind — invoices are handled outside this website.
How your manuscript is handled
Files are stored privately and are not reachable from the public internet. They can only be downloaded by a signed-in member of the agency through the admin area — there is no public link, and no link that works without being signed in.
We do not publish, share, sell or reuse any part of your work, and we do not use it to train anything. Nothing about your book appears in our portfolio or our reviews without your written permission.
Who sees it
The people who run the agency, and the specialist considering or doing your project. Nobody else. We do not send your manuscript to subcontractors outside the team without telling you first.
Where it is kept
Enquiries are stored in a database hosted in the United States, and attachments in private object storage. The agency operates from Nigeria, so your information is accessed from there. By sending us your work you accept that it crosses borders in this way.
How long we keep things
Enquiries are kept while there is a reasonable prospect of working together, and afterwards for our own records of what was quoted and to whom. Attachments are deleted on request at any time — including from people who never became clients.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted — including your manuscript and your enquiry. Email agencymarlowe@gmail.com from the address you contacted us with, and we will confirm when it is done.
You do not need a reason, and asking will not affect how we treat you if you come back later.
